When he joined the company, Cai Ganzhong, who only made patterns by hand, was envious and inferior when he saw that all the masters used computer CAD to make patterns. He secretly made up his mind: he must master this skill as soon as possible. In the daytime, he followed the master to learn the program operation; after work, he practiced CAD operation. In less than a month, Cai Ganzhong was able to master computer pattern-making proficiently, which surprised everyone.
Relying on his usual accumulation, Cai Ganzhong became more and more handy in pattern making of suits and trousers. In 2010, Hualida cooperated with Uniqlo to develop lightweight down jackets, and the pattern-making task was handed over to Cai Ganzhong. At first, he made patterns and samples following the traditional way. Unexpectedly, the finished sample, key parts such as the fit and appearance, the ease on center front zipper are far from the designer's requirements. So, he made the pattern, cutting, and sewing by himself, and took care of every single process, and finally he succeeded: Uniqlo's lightweight down jacket quickly opened up the market and became Hualida's flagship product. The operation method of "Cai Ganzhong zipper grading rule" refined by him has become a guide for Hualida sample making.
